Name Don Bosco
Don Bosco, an inspiration and impetus of our work was born in Turin, Italy in the year 1815. After a turbulent childhood he was determined to become a catholic priest and vowed to reach out to take care of the poor youth displaced due to industrialization.

He founded a congregation of Salesians of Don Bosco in 1859 to educate and empower the youth. Today reaching out to the young especially those who are poor and abandoned is the priority, passion and phenomenon of the Salesians of Don Bosco in 130 countries.

Salesian Province of Trichy
The Salesian Province of Tiruchy, in Tamil Nadu, is one of the ten provinces of Salesian India. With Christian ideals, we work among the poor without any discrimination of caste, creed and culture in the Central and Southern districts of Tamil Nadu that are underdeveloped and unreached.

Don Bosco Institute of Information and Communication Excellence (DBIICE)
The registered society of 'Don Bosco MIDEA' (MIDEA an acronym for Media Initiatives for Development, Empowerment and Awareness) operates as 'alaihal MIDEA' for production and 'DBIICE” for education and training.

DBIICE is a gift to the youth for the 150th year of the foundation of the Congregation of Salesians of Don Bosco. The institute is the result of special and unique way of responding to the signs of the times in modern terms for the welfare of poor youth. The institute is approved by Bharathidasan University of Tiruchirappalli and its Institute for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (IECD) that has been established for promoting entrepreneurship and career development among the students and non-students youth.
