My two sons too studied in Don Bosco: Vice-Chancellor
The Salesian province of Trichy has been making concerted efforts to help the disadvantaged youth and put them back on the track in life. In tune with the province Don Bosco Institute of Information & Communication Excellence (DBIICE), Trichy tried to reach out to the poor youth in a novel way, which has become hugely successful.
DBIICE in collaboration with IECD, Bharthidasan University offers skill based courses like Diploma in Animation and Graphics (Multimedia) and Diploma in Visual Editing. This creative venture has got another interesting side to it. It is the first of its kind in Indian Higher Education System in offering Diploma Courses to 10th passed candidates in Multimedia and Visual Editing field at the university level.

The passing out ceremony for the students was held on 3 February 2010 at IECD campus. Dr. Ponnavaikko, Vice-Chancellor, Bharthidasan University, Trichy presided over the function and distributed the certificates to the students. Speaking on the occasion the Vice-Chancellor recalled the commendable job done by the Christian institutions and Don Bosco institutions in particular. Overwhelmed by the service rendered by the Don Bosco institutions he gladly vouched “My two sons too studied in a Don Bosco school in New Delhi.” He encouraged the students to use the knowledge gained to become resourceful persons.
Fr. Amalraj Susai, Provincial, Trichy Province, profusely thanked the university for allowing these courses to be taught under the University banner. Fr. A. Raj sdb, Director Alaihal MIDEA & DBIICE spelled out the encouragement and support received from the University and in a special way from Dr. K. Parthsarathy, Director of IECD, Bharthidasan University.
