PROJECT BPL - FREE MEDIA TRAINING FOR YOUTH BELOW POVERTY LINE
Don Bosco MEDIA’s training wing DBIICE is to offer free media related courses for three months for students under below poverty line. The courses are offered under SWARNJAYANTI GRAM SWAROZGAR YOJANA (SGSY) of Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD). The basic objective of SGSY is to bring the assisted poor families above the poverty line by providing them income-generating assets.

Now Don Bosco MEDIA has taken the first step to alleviate poverty by offering media related courses to youth who are in the age group of 18 to 35. The only criterion is that they live Below Poverty Line. The training shall be provided both as day-scholar and residential. The entire course fee, food and accommodation during their stay of three months are free.
The youth are expected to prove their BPL eligibility status. The training shall be done for two batches in a year. Duration of the course is three months. After completion of their training, it shall be followed with industry association, sector council and NCVT certification. A memorandum of Understanding in this regard (MoU) has been entered with Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) and Don Bosco Tech India represented by Fr. A. M. Joseph sdb. Don Bosco Tech shall offer range of courses in their institutes all over India under the scheme.
Don Bosco MEDIA shall offer Videography, Visual Editing, DTP & Digital Designing. The process of selection of students shall be done from 7th May 2010. Courses shall commence by end of June 2010 for the first batch.
