TEENAGE STUDENTS MAKE SHORT FILM ON TEENAGE PREGNANCY

It was worth the risk. It was an enriching experience for me,” said Varsha, one of the students of Lady Doak College who participated in the three day short film making training at DBIICE. A group of fifteen students doing their PGDHRD (Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Development) at LDC participated in the training from 30th September to 2nd October 2010.
The students came up with three well made short films at the end of the three day training. The entire script, direction and cinematography were done by the students. They worked in three groups and went on to make films on influence of Television in families titled ‘I wish to be a TV’, Pollution with Plastics and teenage pregnancy.
“My mistake” a short film on teenage pregnancy earned praise from all for the hard-hitting message it conveyed. The film graphically explained the difference between infatuation and true love. It was remarkable to touch upon sensitive issues like teenage pregnancy in such a short training. But the group has achieved a rare feat saying that it is the issue relating to their age group and they needed to deal with it.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Ian Gomes, the French Professor from Cauvery College congratulated the students for making beautiful films on social themes. The topics were very relevant and need of the hour. He mentioned that he too had two daughters in their age and wished that they too participate in such film trainings and come up with short films on sensitive issues to create awareness and social-consciousness.
He also praised
donbosco MEDIA for imparting great values and education among young college students.
